Since early 2024, HYPEC INC. has operated a full-scale sludge treatment station in Alvin, Texas, strategically located near Houston’s major refineries and shipping terminals. This 10K+ storage site features fully compliant infrastructure, including an industry-standard laboratory and a modular treatment system.

The system demonstrated a processing capacity of 800 to 1,000 barrels per day, delivering high efficiency while maintaining operational stability. All waste byproducts, including wastewater and non-hazardous solid waste, were handled by licensed third-party environmental contractors in full compliance with local and federal regulations.

The facility processes oily sludge from tank bottoms, ship cleaning operations, and refinery byproducts. In early 2025, HYPEC processed various sludge bathes from multiple industrial suppliers, with feedstock containing more than 20% moisture and impurities. 

Using a proprietary blend of chemicals, combined with optimized centrifuge parameters, HYPEC achieved separation rates that reduced BS&W to as low as 0.1%, Ash content as low as 0.17% and up to 99% oil content. The recovered oil product met both industry and client quality specifications.
