Technology
HYPEC delivers an advanced and modular oily sludge treatment system capable of handling high-viscosity sludge from tank bottoms, ship waste, and refinery byproducts. The treatment process begins with static sedimentation, followed by pre-heating and chemical dosing to achieve full homogenization. The sludge is then processed through two homogenizing skids (Skid A and B) before undergoing liquid-solid separation in the centrifuge skid.
The liquid phase moves to an oil-water separation system, where clean water is routed to designated tanks or wastewater systems, and the recovered oil is directed to nearby oil tanks. The solid-phase sludge is bagged and safely stored or transported. All dosing is precisely controlled from a centralized dosing room, ensuring consistent demulsification and flocculation.
The system supports a wide range of sludge types with varying oil content and moisture levels. Its flexibility and efficiency make it ideal for use in onshore refineries, shipyards, tank terminals, and industrial cleaning operations.
Our Sludge Treatment Services
HYPEC’s sludge treatment facilities operate in Alvin, Texas, south of Houston and adjacent to several major refineries and ports. The 1-acre facility is fully equipped with concrete-reinforced hardstands, multiple vertical storage tanks, heating systems, dosing units, and automated centrifuge ans separation system. An on-site laboratory follows ASTM and GB standards for sample testing and quality control.
The engineering team at HYPEC brings years of hands-on experience and technical know-how. The site is capable of processing up to 800–1,000 barrels per day, with BS&W levels reduced to as low as 0.1%, far exceeding typical customer requirements.
All byproducts from the treatment process—including wastewater and solid residues—are handled by licensed third-party environmental contractors to ensure full regulatory compliance. The process is designed for safe, eco-friendly, and highly efficient operation, delivering measurable value in oil recovery and waste reduction for industrial clients.
